Back-seal bags, also known as center-seal bags or pillow‑style back‑seal bags, are made by folding the packaging film in half along its center, creating a longitudinal heat‑sealed seam down the middle of the back. The top and bottom edges are then sealed transversely, resulting in a pillow‑shaped bag that is the most commonly used format for high‑speed pillow‑type packaging machines. These bags are widely employed for packaging small‑size, single‑item products, offering fast production speeds and low unit costs.

The film is folded in half, with a distinct center-seal back seam running down the middle of the bag’s rear; there are no side seals on the left or right, and the top and bottom edges are sealed transversely. The resulting shape resembles a pillow, commonly referred to as a pillow‑style bag. It can be manufactured with a standard flat‑back seal or an accordion‑back seal (featuring side pleats for increased capacity and greater fill volume). Most versions are not self‑standing; however, certain accordion‑back designs can achieve basic stability when upright. The back‑seal construction is well suited for in‑line bagging from roll stock, eliminating the need to pre‑form bags—instead, the film is processed directly on the packaging machine to perform bagging, filling, and sealing in a single operation, delivering exceptionally high production efficiency.

Optional Process Features

Easy-tear notch, serrated edge, perforation, partial window, matte frosted finish; can be customized as an accordion‑style widened version to increase bag capacity.
